Suan Bua courtyard and garden setting

Our Story

Hospitality that fits around your journey

Suan Bua was created for the traveller who simply needs a proper place to pause — before boarding, after landing, or somewhere in between.

How Suan Bua came to be

Suan Bua — the name means lotus garden in Thai — grew from a simple observation. Krabi draws visitors from all over the world, and many of them face the same tired stretch between a late-arriving flight and an early-morning departure. Hotels along the beach were too far. The airport offered nowhere quiet to sit, let alone sleep.

The property opened after the Charoenwong family, who had run a small guesthouse on Maharat Road for many years, decided to shape it specifically around the rhythm of air travel. They cleared a central courtyard, planted a compact garden of banana palms and jasmine, and redesigned the rooms so that blackout curtains, rainfall showers, and flexible time windows were standard features rather than extras.

Today the same family manages the day-to-day operation. The front desk is staffed at all hours, the shuttle runs whenever a guest needs it, and the rooms are prepared with the same care whether you are staying for four hours or a full day.

Our Mission

To offer every traveller passing through Krabi a genuine place to rest — clean, calm, and timed to fit their flights rather than a fixed hotel schedule.

Our Values

  • Warmth without pressure — guests arrive at their own pace
  • Transparent pricing, no surprises at check-out
  • Rooms that serve the traveller, not the other way around
  • Consistent care whether you stay 3 hours or 24

A guesthouse shaped around Krabi Airport travel

Krabi Airport is a compact regional hub that handles a steady flow of connecting passengers. Many travellers arrive from Bangkok, Singapore, or Kuala Lumpur in the late evening and face a wait of several hours before their onward flight to the islands or elsewhere in southern Thailand. The usual options — sleeping in the terminal, paying for a full-night hotel room, or spending money on a taxi into Ao Nang — are all imperfect when what you genuinely need is a few hours of uninterrupted rest.

Suan Bua addresses that specific gap. The property is not a large resort or a budget dormitory. It is a mid-sized guesthouse with rooms configured for transit rest: day-use windows, flexible overnight timing, and a suite that works for families or small groups. The courtyard garden keeps the atmosphere quieter than a busy hotel corridor, and the staff are used to guests who arrive at unusual hours.

The location on Maharat Road in Pak Nam places Suan Bua close to the local services of central Krabi town — pharmacies, convenience stores, a few simple restaurants — while still being a short, direct drive from the airport. For travellers who want to spend a layover doing something beyond sitting at a gate, the arrangement works well.
