We had a 9-hour layover on the way to Koh Lanta and found Suan Bua through a recommendation. The overnight room was exactly what we needed — blackout curtains, a proper shower, and the shuttle was waiting when we arrived. Breakfast was light but just right at 05:30. I cannot imagine doing that layover without it now.

Good value for a 5-hour stop. The day room was clean and quiet — I managed three hours of sleep and a shower. The tea was actually good, which I appreciated. Reception was helpful at 02:00, no complaints. One thing: the garden was not accessible during my stay due to maintenance, so I cannot comment on that part.

We booked the suite for four people — two adults and two children — during a 16-hour connection. The sitting area made a real difference; the kids could move around without disturbing anyone. The team kept us informed about our flight and had a car ready 90 minutes before we needed to leave. Simple but genuinely well thought through.

Honest review: I was sceptical about a small guesthouse near the airport. It turned out to be a much better decision than the large hotel I used on a previous visit. Quieter, more personal, and the staff actually knew what time my flight left without me reminding them. The price for the overnight room is fair for what you get.

Used the day room for a 4-hour stop. Clean, well-maintained, good shower pressure. The front desk was helpful and let me keep my bag an extra hour after checkout without any fuss. A bit difficult to find on arrival — I would suggest clearer signage from the main road. But overall I would stop here again without hesitation.

I travel through Krabi several times a year for work. Started using Suan Bua last year and it has become my default stop for any layover over three hours. The pricing is transparent — what it says on the website is what you pay — and the shuttle has never once been late. That consistency is what keeps me booking.

A Few Stories in More Detail

Family of five, 18-hour connection during school holidays

Challenge

An Australian family arrived in Krabi at 23:30 with an onward flight at 17:45 the following day — 18 hours between connections. The children were exhausted, the adults needed to sleep, and no standard hotel had a room type that accommodated five people without booking two rooms at full price.

What happened

They booked the Long Layover Suite for all five guests. Check-in was arranged for midnight. Meals were prepared for all members the following morning, and the team monitored the afternoon flight to confirm the shuttle departure time. The children used the sitting area while the adults worked through emails.

Outcome

All five guests arrived at the terminal rested, fed, and on time — compared with the alternative of spending 18 hours in the airport or paying for two separate hotel rooms. Total saving versus two standard rooms: approximately ฿4,800.

"We genuinely hadn't planned for the connection properly. The team here sorted everything — it was a much better night than we expected." — Guest, May 2026

Business traveller, recurring monthly Krabi stopover

Challenge

A consultant based in Singapore flies into Krabi once a month for client meetings and has a return flight in the late evening. The gap between finishing work and the airport is typically 4–6 hours — too long to spend in a café, too short for a hotel full night.

What happened

She began booking the Daytime Rest Room on each visit. The room gives her a quiet place to finish notes, take a shower before the flight, and rest for an hour. Luggage is left at the desk. Reception texts her 40 minutes before she needs to leave for the airport.

Outcome

She now books 10–12 visits per year. The consistent experience — same room quality, same timing, same staff — has made it a reliable part of a routine that would otherwise be uncomfortable.

"It sounds small, but having somewhere calm to sit and work before a flight makes a measurable difference to how the rest of the evening goes." — Guest, April 2026
